Can anyone explain me whats going on with my virtual memory? For some reason, virtual memory usage is much higher than my physical RAM usage. Any help?

Physical Memory
Total 16329 MB
Used 2601 MB
Free 13729 MB
Utilization 16 %

Virtual Memory
Total 16329 MB
Used 4585 MB
Free 11744 MB
Utilization 28 %

Solution
when you allow Windows to manage Virtual memory it picks an arbitrary value to ~4865MB for 16GB.
it allocates it and doesn't really free any. You can preallocate a certain amount and reduce the max if you prefer to use real RAM and rarely page

I don't use paging file at all, that's the thing

yeah, but if you let Win10 manage it - (default) then it will allocate it stupidly and dynamically add. And Windows complains if you disable it completely, apparently some programs still crap out if there's none - you can override this in advanced settings - I preallocate 1GB and set the max to 1GB on systems that don't use pagefile at all.

In Virtual memory you have to untick Automatically manage paging file for all drives. and specify a small custom size
