Virtual Reality the next big thing?

Is vr going to become a big thing? there is so many VR projects there holo lens for xbox one project Morpheus for ps4 there's oculus rift for pc soon, None of them are realy fully ready, but do you guys think this will be the next big thing?

at e3 already VR is a big thing

there is billions of dollars being spent on VR projects and huge partner ships being made, in the past couple years it seems like VR has blown up alot more then just oculus rift dev kits

there's tv shows like .hack and SAO with fans drooling for VR

If someone fully makes it theres big money in it. But i don't think everyone will be like "OMG LETS BUY THIS SHIT" since it is expensive... Maybe when it gets cheaper.. A lot cheaper.
For example check google cardboard. It is cheap. I tried it once. It isnt high quality, but it still is a great example to show that "VR for everyone" is possible.
