VirtualBox Acceleration option grayed out in windows 7 please help

I am having problem in my virtualbox. The acceleration tab in system is totally grayed out. Unable to use it. Its disabled. My host is Windows 7 32-bit.
How can I make the Acceleration tab to work.

and also want to give my guestOS Ubuntu(32 bits) 2 cores and it is also grayed out.

please help me fixing these 2 things.
 
If I enable VT-x in BIOS will there be any security issue?

Any virus or malware attack?

I heard about that turning it on is a security concern. So manufacturer disable it by default.

Is it safe to turn VT-x on??
