Usually a virus requires direct access to the device in question (a downloaded file, etc) so, unless you transferred files directly to the TV, you *should* be fine.
In theory, it's possible. Would likely have to be a targetted attack oposed to phishing style though.
In practice, it's extremely unlikely.
cant see why it couldnt it would just see an android tv as the same as any other android device i would think
Ok but devices on the same Wi-Fi don't communicate with each other directly. they all have to talk through the router. So unless both your devices are running android and are both already compromised, then they have no way of even communicating.
Think about it, viruses on smartphones are not like those on traditional computers. They are usually just apps that don't do what they told you they were going to do. Have you ever found a documented case of an actual virus on a smartphone? Let alone one that could write information to other devices over Wi Fi? How would the device leverage a user account on the Android OS? Would it be coded to know that the Vizio flavor of Android TV uses this username and credential vs the Sony flavor? If something like this could happen, and it can't, you would see widespread documentation since smartphone penetration into the consumer market is so high and smart TVs running Android is also gaining popularity.
