Hi,

Just repaired a friends STTNG, that had a blank display and smoke
coming out :) DMD driver board +62V output was at +35V, but after
replacing an open resistor at R11, and transistors Q2, Q3 and Q10
all voltages are OK, and the game works just fine with a spare
display. So far so good.

But the source for the smoke seems to be very crispy Q1 and Q2
on the DMD itself. It is a Vishay/Dale unit. Since the display glass
is still pretty good, replaced in 2001 and HUO, I would like to get
the DMD fixed. But I can't find a schematic for it. Not knowing what
should I replace the burnt Q1 and Q2 with, I am out of luck.

So, if anybody can tell where to find a schematic or even a
parts list for a Vishay/Dale DMD, please help!

The schematics for Dale and Cherry dot matrix displays were commonly included
in the WPC Schematic Manual (the addendum to the game manual). The displays
underwent some design changes over time so you'd need to match the display
model with the schematic in the manual.

I was able to get a vishay schematic direct from them after signing a
statement that I would not use it "against" them.

I would try them direct for the type of display. Let me know if you
can't find it.

My manuals had only Cherry and Babcock schematics, but I received
a Dale schematic in my mailbox :) Big thanks to John!
