Need stock BIOS for the VisionTek HD 7970. Have used several from the internet but when I install drivers, I get a message that it wont work. Cardis recognized as a HD 7000 series in Windows 8.1 Any help will be appreciated.
 
Sent an email to support at VisionTek about four days ago and they answered today and they told me that they could not send me a bios. What a crappy company. Good thing that I could resolve this on my own.

Sorry to reply this late, but I only get a little bit of time to cruise the forums in between other duties. It's not that we aren't willing to provide you a BIOS. If we had one to give you, you'd have it. We don't flash cards in the lab, and we do not maintain copies of the BIOS. That is all done at the factory and there is a very long list of legal restrictions, due to contracts, licensing agreements with companies like AMD and a host of other reasons why we cannot legally provide it to you.

Once those legally and contractually binding restrictions are removed, I'd be happy to provide it to anyone that asked. The problem is, it voids your warranty as soon as you flash. So, even if I did give it to you, and you flashed your card, if you do it wrong you are stuck with a paperweight. So the question is: Do we do something we know that is going to hamper our ability to provide solutions to our customers? The answer is, and will remain, no.
