Vista reinstallation, screen freezes

Hello,

I'm trying to reinstall Vista on my desktop. I press the key for it to read from disk. Once it loads the windows, screen freezes, keyboard and mouse won't work. Help plzzz

Try a different install disc that one could be dirty or scratched.
Is you Hard Drive old or failing?
Have you changed any hardware?
Is this a new machine or one you're restoring to fix some issue?
