I have Dell Inspiron with Vista and SVGA output. Connecting an SVGA cord to extend video to another monitor works fine. Using a special cord from svga to hdmi does not. Monitor nor TV will display out put. however, the laptop does recognize them, but just doesn't display on them. Have replaced drivers and attempted all sorts of setting; nothing works. Suggestion?

Hello,

The SVGA-to-HDMI adapter are all active adapters, that means it must have inside a converter chip, which must be powered somehow (usually from the HDMI port); what specific cable are you using, it has a branding of some sort?
