Visual basic 2008 wond install on my windows 7

vb basic 2008 express edition will not intall on my operating system windows 7 home premium 64bit os....why is this? what can i do to make it work..

I'm really having a hard time installing vb 2008 on windows 7 ultimate, just after I select that I want to install the full version and click next, at the step where it says "Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 64 bit Prerequisites (x64)"

please help??

What happens that makes you say you are having a problem? Any error messages?

it does not give a spesific error is just says:
Setup Failed.

And the setup log gives no indication of the problem?

i got this in the log file by i dont know what it means

"[03/01/10,13:54:10] setup.exe: ***ERRORLOG EVENT*** : ISetupComponent:re/Post/Install() failed in ISetupManager::InternalInstallManager() with HRESULT -2147467259"
