The virtual machine in VMware Workstation 17.0.2 Build 21581411 does not want to start. When I want to start any virtual operating system, the following message pops up:

This host supports AMD-V, but the AMD-V implementation is incompatible with VMware Workstation.

VMware Workstation does not support the user level monitoron this host.

Module 'Monitor Mode' power on failed.

Failed to start the virtual machine.

I was previously using VMware Workstation version 16.2.4 Build 20089737 and it booted fine. After updating VMware Workstation to version 17.0.2 Build 21581411, the startup of virtual systems broke. In VMware Workstation I tried to create a new VM with full compatibility with version 17.0.2 and it's the same.

I have Secure Virtual Machine Mode set to [ENABLED] in the BIOS and it's the same.

I’ll give you the same answer the other guys on the other forum gave you your processor is out of spec you need a newer CPU or go back to version 16

Workstation 17 only supports Intel64/AMD64 CPUs launched in 2011 or later. Unfortunately, your present CPU was launched in 05/2010 and isn't supported.

@quikah has provided your only two options”

So I guess you didn’t like the answer you got over there? Your CPU is ancient and ready for the grave.
