Voltage help with core i7 and memory

The better quality the RAM, the lower the voltage it will run at w/o problems. Vendors list the lowest voltage the RAM will work at.
Find some decent-quality RAM that will run at the standard 1.5V for DDR3.

Ok, cool. Thanks.

First, that patriot ram seemed to get good reviews and the specs looked good. Would you consider that quality?

Second, i think i'm missing something because the Core i7 has a max voltage rating of 1.35v and from i understand, the memory controller is on the cpu which means the memory will run at whatever voltage the cpu is running at. So how can you run the memory at a standard 1.5v without frying the cpu considering the core i7's max voltage is 1.35v?

ah, ok. that works. Thanks

idk man, i hear things about how OCZ is "performance" ram and that it requires a lot of voltage.

u guys are hilarious rly, 1.35V max is for the Procesor Voltage, max safe Voltage for RAM is 1,65 ( some ppl are running it higher ) so does Intel say.

yeah, i just built the thing yesterday :) :) I left the CPU set at auto since i only used XMP to overclock the RAM to it's 1600 spec and have the ram voltage set at a safe 1.64v. So all is well. I'll have some fun with it later once i have time to play around.

Unfortunately i can't get Windows 7 RC to install so i'm using Windows XP 32bit, haha. Runs fast but can't wait until Windows 7 is released.
