Voltage reduction using resistors

I'm installing my mini hub inside my server tower case and I want to power it from my power supply in the case. The hub takes 7V so I am planning on taking a feed from the 12V line from one of the molex connectors and reducing it to 7V. I know that this is possible using resistors but I'm not sure what resistor I need. I know there is an equation to work this out but I cannot remember it. Does anyone know either what resistor I need or the equation to work this out?

I Make sense half of the time...You just have to decide which half!

V = I*R Ohm's Law. Voltage equals Amperage * Resistance.
