I'm in a large apartment building where the lights can dim when someone flips on a large appliance (i.e., a microwave). I have a power supply with good voltage regulation, the SeaSonic Platinum-1000 , yet I'd like to clean AC going into the PSU. I believe that this would make the rig's overclocking more stable, which is desirable for me since overclocking can be unstable enough without power fluxes and brown-outs.
If I had a lot of money, I'd probably just buy a top-of-the-line uninterruptable power supply (UPS) that can take the 1111W my PSU can draw (it's a 90% efficient PSU which can provide 1000W, so that's 1000W/0.9=1111W max draw, right?), but those things are pretty expensive. So my main question here is what's the cheapest effective solution to cleaning the incoming voltage?
It doesn't have to be dirt-cheap, but since I don't necessarily need long-term power incase of a blackout - I just want to stabilize the electricity when it's fluxing around - I imagine that I don't need a top-of-the-line unit.
Rig this is for:
-Intel i7-3930k (Intel, NewEgg),
-ASUS P9X79 Deluxe (NewEgg),
-Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1866 (x2, for 32GB total) (NewEgg),
-SeaSonic Platinum-1000 (NewEgg),
-Radeon HD 6970 (NewEgg),
-Crucial m4 256gb (NewEgg),
-ASUS VH242H screen (x3) (NewEgg),
-Corsair H100 water cooler (NewEgg),
along with a good case, BluRay burners, internal USB hubs for dongles, etc.
