Ok i think the subject matter reasonably explains the question. I have a VONETS_2.4G_F378 bridge that I'm trying to configure with Kubuntu. For some reason i keep getting a error message while trying to connect. I've tried connecting via a terminal but that didn't work. I can access it from my Windows laptop. But I'd prefer to configure it through linux. I know I'm being pedantic but that's nothing new.

That is a lot of money for a piece of garbage. It only runs 802.11n which they now call wifi4 and the most current stuff is wifi7. The technology is over 10years old.

So without reading the manual for that device is clearly says to configure it you use a ethernet port. Are you entering that command on the device itself or on your linux machine.

Does it even support configuration via a command line. From just a simple look at the overview page it seems to use a web browser. Although I also like command line configuration most modern equipment forces you to use a web browser.

Thanks bill001g. Great reply but that doesn't really explain why i can connect via windows but not Kubuntu It appears to be timing out. I need it for a friend who wants it for a DVR box. I tried to convince her to go for a cable based solution but she's adamant that she does NOT want to drag a cable across her hallway floor . Picky or what!

Hello again bill001g It transpires then actual make and model is an vonets vap11g-300. Based on what you told me you were 100% correct. It seems i can configure it through windows and then adjust it with linux via the WE Ui. Thanks for your assistance
