VOODOO 5 5500 OR ANNIHILATOR 2?

I have had both cards you are inquiring about since they both came out.If,as you say,you are going to be playing space combat simulators.The Voodoo 5 is the best choice as far as graphics and compatability when it comes to simulations.

hey dude be wise and do not thrust the shitty crap from creative and any geforce(2) laks kwality big time, if ya want a great card for a smal price without the worry's of a nvidia product, then take the v5, ive had em all nvidia, ati, 3dfx. its true a geforce based card is a few frames faster, but i suggest u take a paek at the gf2 vs v5 review at www.hardocp.com , sure if u wanna play flightsim or space combat sim then i can only suggest one thing : "buy that voodoo5 5500, and be happy.

i have read many other and more recent reviews that didn't paint the voodoo 5 in nearly as nice a light. This is something that doesn't surprise about a hardocp review. They often seem to find 'original' results in their reviews.

Something that hasn't been mentioned is that 3dfx is dead. They may be the most compatable today but if your looking for staying power I would be concerned with the kind of support there will be for 3dfx cards in the future.

Hmm... granted, some of these might not show 2 to 3 times faster (which only occur in extremely high resolutions), but it definately is NOT 3fps slower. If it were, we wouldn't make such a big deal. If that were the case, everyone would have one. But it's not.
