Has anyone found a company that offers Static IP so we can setup VPN
with a Satellite Internet connection?

We are located in a rural area and satellite is our only high-speed
choice...

Thank you!

Use a dynamic DNS service like no-ip.com and routers that can use FQDN for
the gateways (like the Linksys BEFSX41), and you should be able to set up a
VPN tunnel over a link with dynamic IP addresses (as long as the addresses
don't change too often).

Keep in mind that you might not like the results. VPNs over satellite
connections are usually not much faster than dial-up speeds, when they work
at all. I've found that VPN over ISDN lines (which are generally available
everywhere) are a faster and more cost-effective alternative when the cost
of other digital circuits like fractional T1's are out of the question.

There is a router that addresses this performance issue with VPN over
satellite -
see http://www.encorenetworks.com/vsr-30.htm
However it is rather more expensive than the Linksys option mentioned by the
earlier poster
