Hello, If I am on my own LAN how/can do I use windows VPN to connect my laptop to my desktop?

Why do you need vpn when you are on the same lan just connect using microsoft file shares.

You can use vpn if you REALLY wanted to but one end needs to be setup to act as the server

hypothetically, can my ISP or anyone see the data that is being transferred in my local area network? and in that case would a vpn make sense? and does wired vs wireless play a role?
