"VPU recover has restart your graphic accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphic commands. Please tell ATI Technologies about this problem" it pops when I am playing games. Before popping up, the screen would turn black for about 1 minute.

These are my specs:

*AMD Phenom ii x4 965 (3.4GHz, 8.0 MB total Cache)

*Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P

*Sapphire ATI Radeon Hd4770

*PSU Couger 700W

*4Gig of DDR2 Memory

*Windows XP Pro SP3

******I have old CCC version 9.7 running but I decided to update it to CCC version 9.11 because I've read some forums about this problem which will help solve it. I properly uninstalled the old driver and then install the new one. After that I clicked on the CCC 9.11, unfortunately it doesn't open.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Could you very well be a buggy card. Before we reach to a conclusion, try updating the drivers to 9.11 and see if it still keeps coming. I have no idea about Cougar PSU's. Its not available in my country, so cant comment on that. But these things happen coz of bad PSU's.

1. Check if your power connectors are properly fitted in the card and the card in the PCI slot.
2. Update the drivers.

Try these and see if you still get the error.
