VRM overheating in my R9-290

Hi. I bought a sapphire R9-290 some time ago (with reference cooler). I also bought a arctic accelero xtreme 3 to cool it, I installed it following Tom's hardware recommendations and of course manufacturer's manual as well. And it's great, when I have my PC case open, gup's temp stays at around 65°C. But the VRM temps reach 60° and 89°C. (still under 95°C).

When I don't open my case. GPU temps rise to about 80° and I don't know about VRM temps, but it gives me a black screen and I have to reboot my PC.

Any ideas on how to prevent this? Do I have to buy another PC case? Or is there a way to install some kind of back plate to try and cool it down? I already have a Thermaltake Armor Silver Window, no lateral cooler, with 2x 120mm coolers (back and front) and 2x80mm coolers (up and back).

Thank you!

Yeah the ones on the far right are the VRMs.

As the toms review says, you need to speed up the fans faster to keep them cool:

he Accelero is simply too effective; the driver's control mechanism means you'll hardly ever see Arctic's solution hit 20 to 25% duty cycle under load. Spinning that slowly, there isn't enough airflow to cool the card's voltage regulators sufficiently. We'll discuss this in more depth on the next page.

Hi.

I used the 12V connector for a fixed 12v continuous voltage (no pwm control) because the guide stated that using catalyst to control fan speed would be a bad idea. So it's on full speed right now.

I think my case could be the problem, when I close my case my gpu temp raises up to +80°C, that's not happening when I open my case and that's not happening on any review of that cooling solution on the internet.
