Will a vs650 psu run a gtx 480, it had 50 amps on 12v rail and the gtx 480 needs 42amps

It will be used on a q9400 stock and 6gb ram

Only reason I want the vs650 is because it's cheaper by about £20 to another psu which will run the card

A GTX 480 doesn't need that much power; depending on your CPU, the whole system may draw that much power at full load. I would recommend a better PSU; I have a slightly less powerful VS550 and I wouldn't run it at more than 60% of its rated capacity. This is an entry-level PSU that's fine for that type of system, but for good stability at full load, a gaming system requires a better PSU.

all the charts ive seen show the 480 pulling alot of power, and everyone else says 42 amps

can you reccomend me a psu with a similar price range £50 or less that will be better

Where will you buy?

what do you mean?
if by website then anysite which will ship to uk and wont be some dodgy alibaba chinese crap

I'd spend a bit more and get this Antec (made by Seasonic) HCG-620M: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/antec-high-current-gamer-m-620w-80-bronze-modular-power-supply-ca-180-an.html or the slightly less expensive non-modular version: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/antec-high-current-gamer-620w-80-plus-bronze-power-supply-ca-148-an.html This Seasonic also is a good buy: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/seasonic-s12ii-620w-80-plus-bronze-power-supply-ca-040-ss.html

The first one has a 5 year warranty while the other 2 have a 3 year warranty.

they are all too expensive, i said £50 max as the vs650 is like £44

Better caps and Tier 3 instead of Tier 4. Since you have you mind set on the VS650, then go for it.

Personally I'd get the Tier 2 Antec HCG-620M that includes a 5 year warranty and much better specs for only £20 more, but I prefer spending bit more for quality components.
