Vsync not fixing screen tearing.

I have a few games that give me major problems with screen tearing. Dying Light and Assassin's Creed Unity are the two worst. I have tried the in-game Vsync options and that doesn't help. I have also gone into Nvidia Control Panel and forced Adaptive Vsync ON. This still makes no difference.

The tearing still happens with SLI disabled. I should have mentioned that.

Do you have a FPS limiter on? MSI Afterburner, EVGA Precision X, Dxtory when using a FPS limiter option, will disable v-sync on Nvidia cards.

You also have Adaptive V-sync on. Adaptive V-sync will turn V-sync off anytime you do not have FPS to match your refresh rate. On a 60hz monitor, that means anything short of 60 FPS will tear. On a 144hz monitor, any FPS lower than 144 will tear.

I DO use Dxtory. If that is the problem, how would I go about turning off the FPS limiter?
I should add that I have tried using regular Vsync as well, and still got tearing.

Remove any FPS limiter you set in Dxtory (I do not use it, so I can't tell you the step by step instructions). If it is not set, then at least turn off the Adaptive V-sync option, be sure it is off in the general 3D tab, and not just in the game specific options. If you turn off the game specific Adaptive option, it may still be set in the global settings.

Next step, if you still see tearing, post a video of it. It might not be tearing at all. It may be another artifact that appears similar to tearing.

Through a bit more troubleshooting, I found that the tearing only occurs when I am in full-screen mode. I don't know why this is, but is there any way to play in Borderless-Windowed mode instead?

Actually, borderless-windowed mode is not the same. Crossfire and SLI work in Fullscreen mode, but not in borderless-windowed mode. Games which are very sluggish alt-tabbing out of the game, react rapidly in borderless windowed mode. It does look like fullscreen, but it behaves as if it is in windowed mode.
