New computer now loaded with Win2000. Plugged in my Lan cable. Ugh...nothing came up. Shows no card even though card is there. Comp properties shows question marks beside other devices including recognition of USB controller and Ethernet controller. Is this a 2000 problem, or is it in the motherboard or????

Have you gone to Add/Remove Hardware in the Control Panel and tried to manually add the NIC card?

Have you installed the newest chipset drivers for the mainboard?

Could you list the system specifications for your computer, please?
