I need to uninstall or "FDISK" win2000.
reason ? , i tried to download MSFT updates...it keeps hanging during the download and has corrupted the directory files.
I tried to do a "clean install" which is supposed to wipe the drive and give me a totally fresh HDD...(i have other corrupted files / programs there i want to wipe and start from scratch you see.)
...BUT GUESS WHAT..now i have TWO copies of Win2000 on the drive...i thought it was supposed to do ONE clean install ??????
******so tell me..how do i totally wipe the drive ????
I may then install winMe first then W2K so i have a choice for running older hardware.

Use the Win98 setup floppy to boot to a DOS command prompt. Then fdisk and format your HDD. Install Win98 first. If you install Win2k first, Win98 will erase the MBR(master boot record) and you will not be able to boot into Win2K.

Sarcasm maybe the recourse of a weak mind,
But it can be funny as hell.
