Wait for Pascal?

I was thinking of getting a GTX 960 which is about a year old now,
but then i heard that pascal will be launched next summer,
I dont upgrade too often, so should I wait for it?
I want what ever i buy to give me high settings at 1080p(30fps) for atleast 3 years.

If you keep AA minimal the 960 and r9 380 4GB versions should be capable of high settings 1080p30f for 3 years

If you want solid performance for three years, then either wait for pascal or get a gtx 970.

However GTX 960 is good for todays games at high 1080P 45fps, but i don't know about future games.

Do u think it will atleast last 2.5 years if i tone down shadows and AA?

The 2GB models wont. Now if you tone down settings across the board to medium, then sure.

But im not getting performance as good as i expected.

80c isn't exactly hot for a CPU under load.

Stock fan?

Also, watch dogs isn't a good game to base your cards performance against...it was known to have performance issues.

Most games, i used to play in HIGH settings get ~40fps now im just in ultra and ~40fps dosen't really seem worth it to me

When we first heard about the R9 390, we were told it would match GTX TITAN in performance for half of the price. Did it happen...? I fear Pascal will go along the same lines, if it doesn't, then the GPUs will cost alot more than GTX 970

at 900p it does seem like an underperforming card.
