Wait for Zen or go Skylake?

AMD FX 6300 (no OC as of now)
M5A97 r2.0 MOBO
EVGA GTX 960
8GB of ram (2x4)
650 Watt 80+ bronze PSU
1TB HDD

My question is basically what is the most cost effective way to upgrade my PC? Or should I invest in a completely new system using an I7 6700k?

Cheapest would be a decent cooler and overclock the 6300
Decent upgrade, fx-8350, good cpu cooler, & overclock it.
Best performance upgrade would be a new intel build but since you have a gtx960 its not that relevant unless you plan on also upgrading the gpu
