Waiting for the New Hardware?!?

I have been interested in building a PC for over a year now and have finally saved up about $1400 for it and a monitor. I am very excited to build my new PC except I have a problem... the new Pascal and Polaris gpus are expected to launch soon and I don't want to waste my money on a 970 only to have a new 1070 or whatever they will call it to come out. Also on the AMD side the Polaris looks very intriguing almost better then Nvidia. Also there is rumor about the new Zen AMD cpu coming out later this year. As I currently have no gaming PC I was wondering if I should wait for the newer hardware or if I should buy the parts now. Another alternative plan that is possible is building a skylake pc now and then using a friends 750ti until the new gpus come out. I will be playing CSGO, Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Minecraft.

Thanks for all the help in advance,
EO

i'd wait on the gpu. we're so close now to the new cards it'd be a shame not to see what they have to offer. if you can have a 750ti for now, then drop it into your new skylake build and see what the new cards have to offer.

as for zen it may not be until early next year before we see them, so waiting for that is not worth it right now. no hard specs yet on pascal but hopefully by the end of the week we can have some idea of the line-up. check here http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17903556 at the end of the week to see what has been released by nvidia. it'll all be there as soon as i can get it updated :)
