I have an issue in WOL from my access point.

Please refer below image link. https://ibb.co/wQsX9JQ

PC1 is perfectly working the WOL function on main router GT-AX11000 but PC2 is not working WOL from AP RT-AC68U. When I connected PC2 to main router GT-AX11000 directly its worked perfectly. How the magic packets cab send to the AP from main router on the existing setup. Please support.

Note:- WOL is initiating from main router ASUS GT-AX11000 bcs the access point is working under mesh configuration.

How do you have the AC68U configured? Do you have the mode set as an access point? Do you have the uplink connected to a LAN port or the WAN port on the AC68U ? Have you tried it with Merlin firmware on the AC68U ?

The asus in theory should have converted the wan port to a lan port when you set it to AP mode.

Wake on lan though is a very strange thing. It is a very special form of broadcast message. Maybe it is being somehow filtered.

I would first remove the AP and connect your directly to the cable going to the main router. Make sure wol works....it is very very flaky. Many times you must send multiple wake messages.

If that works then I would try to use a lan port on the AP. That almost has to work, the lan port are basically hooked to a small switch internal to the router. They no longer use a separate chip but part of the main chip that does this function is extremely similar and it acts as a simple switch.

....so I didn't read well seems you already did the first step try a lan port.

You should use LAN port for uplink unless AC68U will convert its WAN port to an additional LAN port in AP mode.

Some models on the market will convert WAN port to LAN port in AP mode, but most models won't. In this case your are creating 2 networks in 2 different IP ranges called double NAT.

Did not find that AC68U will convert the WAN port to LAN port in AP mode

Its not working on that connectivity. https://ibb.co/sb3R3LK

So, it's supposed to work either using WAN or LAN port, don't know why yours doesn't.

Ans: - Previously my main router was AC68U. So later, to enable the mesh WIFI in Home and to upgrade the home networking performance I bought ASUS GT-AX11000. So, I changed GT-AX11000 as main router and reset AC68U as Mesh/AP configuration mode. Please note everything is working fine including mesh WIFI except WOL under the AP clients.

In ASUS once we changed the router to AP/Mesh configuration mode we can't able to login AP directly from a browser even if you know the IP address. Its only possible through main router page and the settings are very limited like enable/disable jumbo frames and USB application controls etc.

The AP is simply working like an extension of main router. The IPs getting for all clients in the whole network as per the DHCP set inside the main router.

We can bind the MAC address of clients with IP address even its connected under the AP. The main router will show detailed LAN clients under main router and AP separately.

The configuration and connectivity are done as per the setup video provided by ASUS and it’s working perfectly as well except WOL in AP. The funniest thing is if we connect the PC2 to the main router separately through RJ45 cable the WOL is working fine!

So, if you connect 2 routers through AC68U's WAN port, do your PC2 and AC68U get same IP range as main router?

Question is not clear for me.
