Amazingly detailed mod. No, you can't have one, go machine it yourself. He could have scaled it up a bit to put more/better hardware, but it still sits on his desk, as well it should.

Awsome work, and I too believe he should find a company to mass-produce it. I know I'd buy one for my wife's computer.. She mostly just surfs and chats, sometimes playing Diablo once in a while, so a very powerfull computer isn't needed. And I'd get a pleasure of watching it here on the desk between our displays 😀

And though an IT admin shouldn't probably say this.. I'm going all out and simply saying - HE IS SOOOOOOO CUTEEE!! 😀

Oh, and @ Chris - I don't care if it won't run Crysis 😛 😉

Oh, here is an original article btw:

In russian unfortunately, but don't underestimate Google Translate 😉

if it can play blu ray.... then this is just the perfect thing fot HTPC kind of uses... i would love to put it in the living room... just watch out for the kids...

Lol, Beutiful....I was working on a walle case 9 months ago (plans that is nothing further)...I gave up cause I was using a mid tower size and it didnt look right....nvr thought of going with a micro atx board (*feels stupid*).....but wanted to tell these guys NICE!!

it'd be nice if it could drive and move it's arms/eyes!(controlled via computer)!

Otherwise nice looking, but rather give me a regular EEEBox on my desktop!

[citation][nom]cangelini[/nom]Where's the "will it run Crysis?"[/citation]
You're right Chris... someone has to say it.

but will it run Crysis?

That's not a case mod!!! He actually built Wall-E, and happened to put a computer inside. I have to agree that I am a little disappointed that after all that effort to custom machine every part, he didn't spend a little more time installing cervos and motors to actually make it move around.

As a side note, it is also unfortunate that Disney never gave credit to Short Circuit (Paul Guttenberg and Alley Sheedy). "Number 5, is alive..."

This case is amazing. Does it actually role on the tracks? It would be really cool to make it into an actual robot that can move on its own... motorize the tracks and give it binocular vision. That would be soooo cooooool!!! It does need to have the Mac startup chime though. It isn't complete without it.

they even painted it dirty! you can see the black paint on the orange!
the only thing it's missing is the rusted wheels; and some rusted metal cubes[:)]

[citation][nom]curnel_d[/nom]Your normal ATX motherboard wont fit in here. His choices were limited I'm sure.[/citation]
Not that limited. There are plenty of miniITX and MicroATX motherboards that would fit and have many more options.

[citation][nom]ram1009[/nom]Ican't help wondering what the average age of the responders to this article is.[/citation]
20 for me...

anyways I cant help but wonder how much it cost him!?....Aluminum isnt cheap yea knw?

it's funny cause wall-e, while being an awesome movie, is propaganda for kids. There are a lot of hints pointing towards Apple products, but now wall-e is a pc. score one for the good guys.

This guy is actually selling it. Price of 70.000 russian roubles was mentioned, that's 1500-1600€. It weights 6kg.. Taking into account his time and materials, I doubt that he actualy earns much on this price.. Like you guys said - it's completely built from aluminum.

As for age - I'm 27 thank you.. but I love both Wall-E and Eve 😉 Probably best animated movie ever made, characters are so well done, with a minimum of talking! Well,ok, sounds, not much toking except Wall-eeeeeeeee and Eeeeeeevaaaaaa 😀

@ 08nwsula: how is there alot of pointing at apple?, I missed any....I would say its more pointing at windows (take the windows boot up sound that walle has when he starts up from charging for example)

and @ LuxZg: do you knw the conversion to usd?

Totally, Awsome. Now if he just scaled it a little bigger to fit a micro ATX board so that you could put a dedicated GPU in there. Now that would be the shit. I was thinking it would also be cool if it was remote controlled so you could wheel Wall-E into a Lan party, but I think that's just too much ^_^.
