Ok I haven't posted much but I have a connection issue with a wanscam IP camera I bought a few years ago.
I had it working on my old network at home. A year ago I switched to att dsl network. Now I tried to set it up on this and it's not working correctly. If anyone is familiar with these cameras I would appreciate any help.
Issue:
Camera plugged in to att wireless router.
When I run the search executable from wanscam, it will find the camera eventually. I say eventually because it often takes a couple minutes. And sometimes it shows up and then goes away in a few seconds. I have the IP configuration right, the IP for the router (left side in search window) is matching the camera IP (right side) with the exception of the last number. The subnet, dns, and gateway numbers all match exactly. Port is set to something like 800.
As soon as I try opening the camera in a browser with the IP address, the browser says it can't open the page due to no connection, and my internet connection from the wireless router is lost. Not just on my computer but the wireless network loses internet connection. After I close the browser it takes a few moments and the Internet connection comes back. Then I can eventually search again for the camera and it eventually finds it. But it keeps appearing and disappearing. I'm not sure what I've set up wrong there's no other instructions with the camera I'm thinking it's something to do with the router settings att.net dns suffix or something? I have no clue. If anyone knows what this could be id appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Solution was to set up the camera separately on PC first to assign an IP address. The att router did not assign a static address even tho I selected the setting to "fixed IP" it wouldn't work. Thanks for the help.

Solution
Could be an IP address conflict....

Is the camera configured for DHCP (gets its' IP from the router) or is the camera assigned a static IP that you selected and entered via the camera's configuration screen?

Double check all of your IPs especially if you have static IP addresses in use. Make sure the static IP addresses (if any) are outside of the available IP address range to be used by the router. Or reserve an IP for the camera via the camera's mac.
