Even though I bought a few years back, I like the Asus Silent Knight. I never got around to test it with over-clocking because I went too cheap on the CPU. But esthetically, it's the coolest heat sink around.

proof? Let me guess the one heatsink you've ever bought didn't make the list. paid or not, I've tested many of the sinks they review, and the results line up just as I expected...

This is the reason that I went with the H50. I love rosewill products because I think they are better than people want to give them credit for because it doesnt have antec on it. IMO I think these heatsinks are an eysore. Im pretty ocd when it comes to my cpu builds and my dark knight was buggin the hell outta me because its all you see! Went with the h50 for a cleaner look and it does the job.

Some of you should stop thinking that just because a product doesnt have "sony" or "antec" on the front its complete garbage.

[citation][nom]dstln[/nom]Looks like almost an exact clone of my Xigmatech...[/citation]
It does. And i sure love my Xigmatech

[citation][nom]fokissed[/nom]because an anvil has very little surface area compared to heatsinks[/citation]
I believe I was trying to convey the message of the heatsinks size and weight rather than it's thermal conduction properties.
Exactly how much stress will this exert when bolted sideways to a vertically mounted motherboard?
If you wanted to go all out you could just have a solid copper base, with heatpipes the size of a car exhaust and a finned radiator the size of a wardrobe, but that would just be ridiculous.

This heatsink is borderline ridiculous in it's size and weight.

Overclockers only care about temps not looks or brands. Noctua NH-D14 beats your H50 by roughly 5c and doesnt have any risk of a leak at all. Also if both fans die the D14 is capable of passive cooling where as your H50 will leave you SOL if your pump dies.
Bang for buck and value is in the eye of the beholder. Name brands dont matter if it works and works well.

The theory behind direct touch seems solid. The gaps between pipes are still unsettling. But I imagine there are TIM's made for these kinds of HS.

[citation][nom]jaysbob[/nom]shhhh don't give them ideas"now with 120 grams of pure gold for EXTREME thermal conductivity!"[/citation]

120g at current spot comes to $4645.66 worth of EXTREME. fail.

This heat sink looks A LOT like the I bought not too long ago

ashkaji, All the direct contact heatsinks have gaps. This one has more area contact on the heatpipe portion than most.

And for those of you complaining of the overall quality of Rosewill, consider Cooler Master and their cases and their PSU's.
