From that article

If anything, PC users have a much higher awareness of security issues and take more precautions than Mac users, according to Eaton. "They certainly purchase more software to protect themselves," he noted.

Several security solution providers told CMP Channel they believe that the logic of Whitehouse's statement is fundamentally flawed.

"That comment is just ridiculous," said Andrew Plato, president at Anitian Enterprise Security, a Beaverton, Ore.-based security solution provider. "While many IT people prefer the ease of use and style of Macs, the reality is that Macs are mostly in the hands of average folks with limited IT skills."

John Eaton, president of Eaton & Associates, an Apple solution provider in San Francisco, also disagrees with the notion that Mac users are more aware of security risks than PC users. "To assume that the knowledge of the user is related to the problems with viruses and spyware is incorrect, in my opinion," he said.

"When it comes to identity theft, phishing and other 'confidence tricks' that are typically email or Web based I don't see any higher level of sophistication on one platform or the other," Eaton said.

Hey, its only for your own good. So if you don't have a Mac you don't know what you're missing

Yeah, the receptionist at work would love me to turn up with 20 boxes and tell her I was gonna build her computer.
I did point out that I was at work. Idiot.

No you did point out tho they were Dells, oh well never mind...

okay... lets start over.

Mac's ARE over rated, because:

1.) Their price on a prebuilt system.
2.) DRM (dollar ransom met ) chip in order to install Mac OS on a PC
3.) You have to wait for the latest game titles to be ported over, if they get ported over.
4.) If it was really that good, I'd be using one.
5.) No point in getting a Mac if rendering pictures for a movie/game (rather be watching or playing game) or doing data bases from home, any kind of printing which you claim a reg PC/XP can't do/match, which has nothing to do with my job, in order to do it in less time.

And for a decent PC running XP or Vista, you can play the latest games, tweak your hardware, run other OS (linux) and bitch at Mac users on PC forumz, because the main complain is BSOD on Vista which they can't seem to resolve on their own.

Maybe you should just watch those Mac commercials so it makes you feel better. 😀

Your point 4, how old are you?? That is the most pathetic not-using-OS X argument I've ever heard... :sarcastic:
There is a point to getting a Mac for rendering pictures because a lot of design studios use macs, and tell me, what does a design studio do as a business... :sarcastic: Lots of companies uses Macs because that's what they're designed for. Design work...
Your last point is just as pathetic as your first. You're as bad as that stupid macgirl up there. She hates anyone without a Mac because she can, even though she has no reasoning. You hate Macs in exactly the same way.
Let me be clear here, both of you are (obviously) entitled to your opinions, but because of the way you put your 'opinion' across, I don't want to hear either (as I'm sure a lot of people on here don't!)
OS X isn't a godly OS, it does things better than XP and it does things worse than XP. But in comparison, my copy of XP requires a lot of tweaking to get it to where I like it. OS X on the other hand doesn't.
It's nice having both a PC and a Mac, because it means my PC can be more geared towards gaming and heavier CS3 use (when things become a bit too heavy for my Mac) which is where it excels.
Don't just state you hate Macs. I bet half of you have never even used one.

Oh god... :sarcastic:
You make me want to cry... 😀
Aaah well, I shall just relax at my desk (feet-up on my new Q9300 fileld box! 😀) and watch the madness now...

Seriously what are you all bitching about

Mac has its plus points
PCS has its plus points

Macs has negative points
PC's has negative points

Its all down to preference at the end of the day and if people don't like what others do then its their problem...

Only immaturity brings out "mine is better than yours attitude" especially when at the end of the day - if the user likes their preference then its down to them, not others to change what they like...

I have used both platforms and continue to do so.. All because I mainly use PCs it doesn't mean I don't like Macs for the sake of not liking them...

I'm prolly old enough to be your da da.

I find it pathetic to have to pay allot more for something that really isn't different. I've been on some mac's, and quite frankly, I'm not impressed. Although I never did have a chance to see OS X, which I still feel as though the price sticks out like a sore thumb, to buy the hardware that goes with it.

Well.. for your information, I don't run a business. So how many regular users, namely gamers, enthusiasts, would use that software/hardware? I mean if it was more affordable, fits my needs better, I'd have it. Other then that, if regular users use Macs to do email, listen to music, and yadda yadda yadda... then they spent more then I did, just to do those things, which I'd really find... pathetic. 😛

It's not that I hate Apple, its just the price doesn't really fit, which I find over-rated. Even their advertising sucks when you know the crap the say about PC's is BS.

And look the only happy picture in here is the imac g4

ubuntu is trying to kill that guy while windows looks at him alsleep clearly evidence that macs are better

Well you may well be, which makes your comments even worse in my eyes. You sounded like a toddler who didn't know why he didn't like it, but knew he didn't!!
Call me pathetic for having a Mac, I can live with that. My PC cost over 4 times what my Mac did...
Well it certainly sounded like you hated Macs, judging by your comments! :sarcastic:
I don't like the "better than a PC" advertising, but fortunately there doesn't seem to be masses of it around in the UK.

You're absolutely right.
I'm going to burn my PC, and buy the 'friendly' Macs...

Your PC cost over 4 times then your mac? Did you buy it used? Or did you just flat out buy all the expensive PC parts out there?

Mac:

Book - $1099
Book Air - $1799
Book Pro - $1999
Mini - $599
iMac - $1199
Mac Pro - $2799

My system is under $1000 bucks, but over $1000 when I upgraded to my Q6600. And my XP Home version is basically an upgrade that I brought back in 2002-3 ($99). I brought the upgrade Vista 64 bit... Today ($122), to try out since I don't need a special chip to let me install it.

So I sounded like a toddler who didn't know why he didn't like it? Sounds more like, you wanted to say something to my post simply because I don't have a Mac and stated a reason(S) why.

But I guess theres nothing going on in the Mac forumz... And you have to defend your pride.. err.. purchase.

Apple is like a good for nothing junkie that just won't die. I mean are apples even apples anymore with so much of there hardware identical to the PC market. Adobe isn't going to release the 64 bit version of photoshop CS4 on leopard because its basically umm.....shyte!! I am SOOOO proud to say I was never stupid enough to buy anything apple, not even an ipod. They actually give real apples (the ones that grow on trees) a bad name. How people get conned year after year even with the specs right in front of them is something only a phschologist could work out. Tards!!
