Want to ask About USB HUB

Hello guys,I want to ask about USB HUB,I'm quite newbie with this stuff.
so this is the plan.
I'm planning on getting a powered USB HUB and I'm a bit confused about self-powered HUB vs powered HUB.
1.If i have a powered HUB,does each port has full speed even tho all ports are in use?

2.If I have self-powered HUB,each port doesn't work with full speed all the time,it depends on how much ports are in use,so if there are 4 ports in use,the power will be split into 4 ports,and the speed will be divided by 4 for each port,am I right?

Correct me if I'm wrong

It will do things like:
a) Not be seen by the computer at all
b) Be seen by the computer, but then disconnect at seemingly random points
c) Jump off of your desk and try to bite you in the ankle all while screaming about the lack of power.

OK, C probably wont happen. LOL

But not enough steady power is not a good thing for any computer component.
The difference is a self powered hub has a power brick that you plug into the wall or power strip.
A powered hub tries to pull enough power from your computer to power the devices you might attach to it.

From experience, you want to buy a self powered hub. It provides much better power than what the hub that draws power from your computer will. Your hub should power each device that wants power, but again, the power on a self powered hub is far better than a powered hub that is pulling power directly from your computer.

The way the speed works is simple. Things like a mouse or keyboard use almost no bandwidth, so they only get a tiny part of whats available. Audio, storage devices, and so on, when they are actively transferring data, will take as much of the available bandwidth as they can get. When they are idle, obviously they wont be using much bandwidth.

How much speed there is depends on the USB port. 2.0 is slow. 3.0 is much faster. And 3.1 can be even faster. But each connection will default to the lowest common point. So if you plug a USB 3.0 hub into a USB 2.0 port, everything on that hub that goes to the computer will function at 2.0 speeds. But if you plug that same USB hub into a 3.0 plug on the computer, then 2.0 devices plugged into the hub will function at 2.0 levels, but 3.0 devices will function at 3.0 speeds.
 


I wrote it wrong I meant self powered HUB hahaha
anyway I want to ask,what happen if the power that drawed from my computer doesnt enough to power my hard disk(just example),the HDD wont work at all,right?
