Probably should take SLI/Crossfire out of the template, obsolete. Dual 3090 Ti sounds cool until you realize that a single 5090 has more CUDA cores now.

I've always struggled to spend 10k on a system. A lot may have to go into peripherals these days.

That was directed at the template itself, not your lack of knowledge. And to point out that Nvidia took SLI away for a reason. They just ended up making massive GPUs to supplant the need.

Multiple GPUs still has its use for rendering and AI and other accelerated tasks. But since the average person won't have anywhere close to a 4090 or 5090 GPU, any long term game development done at that level will easily be able to run on a mid-range card a few years down the road.

Personally this is what I would do:

Place the two front mounted 160mm fans on the bottom of the case as intake and put th Arctic freezer 3 radiator as intake on the front of the case. That monitor I linked is very nice, I have one, and it's one of the few with a Displayport 2.1 port so there is no DSC between the graphics card and the monitor. If you could wait for the 9950X3D CPU, that would be the ideal CPU for your use cases. The 9800X3D is the fastest gaming CPU right now but since it only has 8 cores it would slow down the workflow when doing compiling or other multithreaded workloads related to game dev. The 9950x has the cores but does not have the game boosting X3D cache that the X3D chips do.
