Hello everyone!
I'm 16 years old and I know little about computers, just putting that out there, so really dumb it down for me.
Ok, so around November 2013 I decided to get a gaming desktop instead of playing games on my laptop I use for work as integrated graphics are never the way to go. (So I am told.)
I decided to buy a £500 gaming desktop, so many threads all said build it yourself so I did... as I am not familiar with this I need help as it seemed not to boot up and made a few beeps, me being the noob I am tried everything but I didn't seem to fix the problem. (if this has any relevance when I pressed the CD drive button, the CD drive came out and in just in one click, sometimes not at all.)
I thought to myself that it may be just a faulty component, but how am I ever going to know what it is. Of course I looked into it and realised they didn't give me enough standoff's for my case for the motherboard, so I went and bought 50 :L for £3. I have yet to try it as I don't know that when I turned it on I have short circuited the motherboard or what. Sorry for the rambling I just wanted to include all the detail I can.
I believe I am at whit's end with this PC building stuff, but I also think once I've done it with your help, it will be money worth spend rather than money WASTED.
I have decided to seek the internet for answers and went to the website that helped me a lot when trying to construct my PC, Tomshardware! I think this site has a generally positive community.
None the less, I am more than willing to give the person who can help me £10 over PayPal for there help as I'd rather potentially give generously rather than have wasted £500.
Anyway guys, reply to this thread if your interested and then the best way to go about it is Skype as I need you to see what's visually wrong with it as you can talk me through it. If you have any other ideas I would be grateful! Thanks a lot for reading!
