Hello everyone!

I'm 16 years old and I know little about computers, just putting that out there, so really dumb it down for me.
Ok, so around November 2013 I decided to get a gaming desktop instead of playing games on my laptop I use for work as integrated graphics are never the way to go. (So I am told.)
I decided to buy a £500 gaming desktop, so many threads all said build it yourself so I did... as I am not familiar with this I need help as it seemed not to boot up and made a few beeps, me being the noob I am tried everything but I didn't seem to fix the problem. (if this has any relevance when I pressed the CD drive button, the CD drive came out and in just in one click, sometimes not at all.)

I thought to myself that it may be just a faulty component, but how am I ever going to know what it is. Of course I looked into it and realised they didn't give me enough standoff's for my case for the motherboard, so I went and bought 50 :L for £3. I have yet to try it as I don't know that when I turned it on I have short circuited the motherboard or what. Sorry for the rambling I just wanted to include all the detail I can.

I believe I am at whit's end with this PC building stuff, but I also think once I've done it with your help, it will be money worth spend rather than money WASTED.
I have decided to seek the internet for answers and went to the website that helped me a lot when trying to construct my PC, Tomshardware! I think this site has a generally positive community.

None the less, I am more than willing to give the person who can help me £10 over PayPal for there help as I'd rather potentially give generously rather than have wasted £500.

Anyway guys, reply to this thread if your interested and then the best way to go about it is Skype as I need you to see what's visually wrong with it as you can talk me through it. If you have any other ideas I would be grateful! Thanks a lot for reading!

Tbh it could be my standoffs but I'd like further assistance on that, like I said, if I could get visual help on the matter that would be great, I'm just spitballing here though!

Well what's the status of the build is it already completed or are you going to start from scratch?

A problem I have encountered is my pins on my CPU are not straight, I have seemed to of straightened them but when I try and put the card to match the holes it goes weird. The pins don't fully sink into the holes so im stuck on wht to do, any help?

Put everything together and i'm getting 2 beeps, I had this before but what has improved is that all the buttons work, the power button and the disc drive! At least im getting somewhere, all I need now is for it to boot up and the fixing of the 2 beeps. My RAM is seated correctly aswell as the video card, apparently it can also mean a shortage in the circuit. (All my fans are running incl. the video cards)

Question: Do I need a monitor for desktop? because I just have a TV atm which is saying 'No signal to monitor'.
I read that some sort of command prompt comes up and you have to press keyboard for that but I have nothing. Stressful, help would be appreciated!
