Hi guys,

my system specs are:
CPU: Intel(R) Core 2 Quad Q9400
RAM: 2 x 2 Gb DDR2
Motherboard: MSI G41M-P33 Combo

I want to overclock my CPU, but every time I change my CPU speed to a higher value and click save, the computer restarts itself after a few beeps, but nothing changes. I check CPU-Z and the Bus Speed is still the same as before.

The default bus speed is 333 Mhz x 8 multiplier.. I tried changing it slightly to 350. What am I doing wrong? This is my first time trying to overclock a CPU, so I am happy nothing went wrong. But I really want to know so that I can try again.

In the bios, the CPU Voltage is [Auto], and I can't change it.

Any ideas? Is there something I am missing?

Thanks guys

Ok, I tried upping the bus speeds very slowly, 333>336>338>340>342, and that's as far as it goes. Any higher than 342 and it beeps and resets to the default.

That's sad.

if your bios version 32.13 you cant get over 46+bus speed with default ram and multiplier , 32.12 you cant get over 34+.
I am stuck with that mother board its bad board I have ever seen

if you get turned on with a higher bus speed , the system will crash on full load test or big games like gta 5 advanced warfare or it will not boot in next restart. Don't waste your time on overclocking with that Mobo
