Hi there,
i have little confusion about upgrading my RAM
I really have a bad pick when it comes to Technology and my laptop is one of that case
which is slow and i have no idea what is making it slow is it a RAM 4GB [800MHZ] or HardDisk 5400RPM it takes around 10-15 min in welcome screen and i nearly killed all background task running on my laptop through msconfig

I am learning programing in java and i also stopped all services of mysql which eats half of my memory and sometimes also use VMWARE for linux that's not an issue

Currently i'm using Kingston 4GB RAM Company's default [Based on CPU-Z]
with DRAM Frequency of 800MHZ
FSB : DRAM of 1:6
CL of 11.0 clock
tRCD of 11 clock
tRP of 11 clock
tRAS of 28 clock
CR of 1T
it's my first upgrade, so here my confusion

-> is there any Compatible issue if CL is more or less and also does less CL means more performance currently mine is 11-11-11-28

-> also cpu-z shows i have 4 slots and I read somewhere i can only upgrade upto max 8GB does that means each slot can have 8GB or in total it should be 8GB

-> is upgrading RAM any worth
if so i m interested in these RAM

and also there is Corsair Vengence which has 10-10-10-27 which is costly for me against 9-9-9-24 which is best please recommend me soon
or any other ram so,

thanks.

It says in specs that 8gb is max supported, but i can confirm 12 and 16gb work just fine in the k55vd, no bios update required.

As for the slow running issue, it's already been said. Its the HDD
