Want to upgrade one thing in my PC and see improvement

Hi there! I have a PC from around 2013 which I have changed some of the parts out of, and I'm not sure where to go next. For this summer I'd like to get myself one component to make it noticeably better for gaming. Based on the specs below, can anyone give me an idea of what the limiting component most likely is in this computer. My hope is to make games run faster/smoother with this upgrade.
SYSTEM SPECS:
Windows 10 64-bit
AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core Processor @ 3.6 GHz
8GB RAM (probably just basic DDR3)
1TB Western Digital HD (this is also probably the most basic one)
GeForce GTX 660Ti
750W PSU

System has basic cooling, and there is one more available fan slot in case of more heat output due to an upgrade. I've never worked with water cooling and don't think I want to get into that now.

Thank you for any suggestions you have to offer!

the best part would be a intel h77 mb and locked 4590k cpu. the only other upgrade depends on your mb if you have the newer chipset to run a 8000 cpu. myself i sell the old pc or part it out and build a newer pc latter on this year around the intel kurby lake cpu and nvidia or amd new gpu and ddr4 ram.

I assume that if I still have my Windows 8 disc and key I could put that in with a new motherboard, then upgrade to 10. Any idea if this would work?

yeah but you'll most likely have to contact microsoft about that. the license key is associated with the current motherboard in your system. i honestly don't know if they make you buy a new license or what

So I just found out that in another computer (which only has some components in it) there is a Nvidia nforce 680 SLI motherboard. Would this likely help with the speed? I would probably have to figure out how to get it's current processor out since that one clocks in somewhere high in the 2GHz range

no that is a very old motherboard and your current processor would not work with it. just ditch that idea. thats an intel motherboard with (old) nvidia chipset.

Ok thanks for letting me know. I will keep looking for solutions to help speed up my computer. Right now it's decent for games but I'm picking up Overwatch in a couple of days so that will be the next test for it. If that doesn't run smoothly enough I'll look into upgrading something (hopefully not too expensive).
