hey guys i'm new on this forum and its my 1st thread here.. :-D

i never OCed any cpu before.. now i've updated to G3258 + MSI z97 Gaming 3,
i heard that people are getting 4.7-4.8ghz on water. as i'm using a CM 212x i wanted to hit 4.5ghz but the problem is mine g3258 is not stable at lower voltages compared to others. and because of higher vcore voltages its hitting 82°C at 4.2 ghz on Prime 95 small ftt stress test..

the max oc i achieved is :-
Core Clock - 4.2ghz
Vcore Volt - 1.33v (1.35v highest shows on cpuz during stress test)
Max temp - 82°C after 10 mins of prime 95 stress.

currently running at 4.1ghz/1.26v/72°C max temp..

my question is am i missing something, why i cant reach @ 4.5ghz at 1.2-1.3v like others. please help. also i hav tried stock cooler the temp difference between stock and CM 212x is only 5-7°C is it okey..??

My Rig:-
Cpu - G3258
Mobo - Msi Z97 Gaming 3
Ram - 2x4gb Hyper X Fury 1866mhz
HDD - 1tb WD Blue (no ssd)
GPU - Asus R9 270x Direct CU 2gb
PSU - Corsair CS650M 80+ gold
Thermal Compound - CM IC Essential E2
Case - Corsair Graphite 230t (2x120mm intake and 1x120mm exhaust fans)

Solution
Every G3258 is different some are great overclockers , some not.

My son has a secondary setup with a G3258 @ 4.4GHZ. on a Cryorig H5 Universal.

Temps never exceed about 58C

thanks for your quick reply sir :)
should i play with the bus a little in order to push it a bit more, is it safe/possible to set the bus @ 105 on my z97-g3 so that i can get 105*42 = 4.41ghz..?? or should i sell this one and buy another from different store to check my luck again.. ;)
