[SOLVED] Wanting to Upgrade My System!

Hello everyone! I am looking to upgrade my PC. My Specs are below.

CPU: AMD 1700x @ 4.3
MOBO: Asus Prime x370
GPU: Gigabyte 1080
RAM: Corsair 16 GB 2666
PSU: Corsair 750X
SSD: Samsung 500G
SSD: Kingston 256G
HDD: Western 1TB
HDD: Western 1TB
Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i v2
Monitor: ACER XG270HU

If I can keep my MOBO and get a chip, would this work? I play a variety of games shooters, mmos (FFXIV), JRPGS, action, and platformers!

Oh well I guess its time to build a system! Not sure about wanting to upgrade the 1080 though. What are your thoughts? is it worth it for the % of performance increase?

I meant nope you won't need a new motherboard to run a 3900x. Just update bios. I would set tight with the 1080 and wait for the 3000 series to drop.

the 1080 should be fine for 1440p gaming for a while yet, at least a year or so.

MOBO: Asus Prime x370

There are more options so which one exactly? if it is the "Asus Prime x370-A" for instance does it have a pretty basic vrm and would a 3700X maybe be a better option.
