Don't buy a Western Digital hard drive if you want to install W2K, especially if you a have a VIA chipset on your board. Why? Well odds are W2K won't install. Infact it won't even recognized you drive. You can visit W.D. message board and do a search on W2K topics. I am very upset. W.D. is denying that the problem lies with there hard drives. Goto to there forum and see for yourself at:

I was able to install W2K with a Maxtor and a Fujitsu drive on my system with no problems. WD told me that if I want to install W2K, I have to disable Ultra DMA in the BIOs, install and then enable Ultra DMA after installation. Well I'ver read a bunch of messages on thier message board about people triing this and still having problems. Check it out for yourself before your buy.
