Hey so I couldn't really explain very well what the problem is in the title.

I overclocked my CPU (Specs in sig) from 3.2GHz to 3.8GHz just buy bumping up the multiplier. It has been running stable for over a week - stress test with prime for a few hours and no problems and temp was only 53 max... Anyway, thought I'd bump up the FSB to 205 and then I get the awful message - "Warning! System now in safe mode! Please Re-Setting CPU Frequency in CMOS"

So I went in DIDN'T change any settings (INCLUDING the FSB), saved and restarted the computer and wallah, it started without the message, after shutting it down (correctly) I come back this morning to start up my new 3.9GHz CPU and I get the same awful message again! "Warning! System is now in blah blah blah!"

If this has anything to do with anything I have a 600W PSU but not sure on the make/model.

If you have any idea or experience then please drop a response, it always helps!
Thanks in advanced!

Solution
Settle with the 3.8GHz mate, your mobo has 4+1 powerphase design and is no good for higher OC's then youve already achieved anyways :)

Specs are in sig. Also tried resetting to default, booting up with the defaults and shutting off and then I'll go back into BIOS and reset to how I want it to FSB-200 & Multiplier 19x it'll boot fine but If I bump the FSB to 205 it will just refuse to boot normally - I get the odd occasion when it boots fine and I'll have a 3.9GHz CPU for a few hours until I shut it off and then it will refuse to boot normally again.

try to keep the FSB at stock 200, and only change multiplier. FSB overclocking can give system instability.

I have my FX 8320 overclocked to 240 FSB and stock multiplier though. Maybe try to keep the multiplier at stock first and search for a correct FSB.

I have tried keeping multiplier at stock and bumping the fsb up before but got the same results. I cant increase my multiplier any more than 19x - if I move it up to 19.5x it'll go to auto and if I move it up to 20x it'll go to 5x.

Okay thats a bit gutting but thanks for your help! I mean 3.8ghz is nice just wondered how far I could push it haha :)
