Was I lied to? Stock fan i5 6600 thermal paste fan

I bought it on eBay the guy told me it was brand new but isn't it suppose to look like goo? The surface looks smooth like nothing on there. On phone right now but trying to post the pics

That's not new , should have pre-installed paste.

Return it , has been installed before.

You need to be careful on eBay. Some sellers will list their items as new even if they're used. I honestly don't recommend using eBay at all anymore. Sites like Craigslist are good for local listings and Newegg is good for national/global stuff.

To be honest, this cooler doesn't look Intel at all. It looks like it was pulled off of one of those little Rockminer BTC mining things.

Your motherboard won't support the CPU as it only supports 4th gen processors. i5-6600 is skylake, 6th generation. Also if the CPU was new it would still have the security seal on it. I'd suggest returning the CPU, updating the bios and pick up an i5-4690.

I spoke to the guy he said he now has a i7-6700k the booklet manual it came with did confirm it was an i7

This is such a hassle.. i swear, a bit disheartening in wanting to build a computer again ive bought 3 things that were suppose to be "brand new" But i received them used.. i used other site like amazon still had the same results.. who knows maybe i'm that unlucky. I have nothing to lose.. if the i5 6600 doesn't work i'll just return it and try to find i5-4690.. sigh...

Little confused here. I thought you were upgrading the CPU in your OEM desktop (ASUS M32ad). Before upgrading always look at the CPU support list and update the bios to avoid frustration. As for the MSI Gaming H110 it will support the i5-6600 all the way up to an i7-6770K, just can't overclock it.

I bought the i5 6600 cpu i manage to just buy a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO along with it, Best decision i made so far it kept my cpu fan cooling greatly. As for the i7 6600k booklet the guy was just lazy, upgraded his and just put whatever in the box, I was refunded fully, and got a huge discount on a new cpu to solve my problem with the fan and such. The seller admitted it was his fault and i'm now happy with my purchase.
