Hello. So yesterday I finally pulled the trigger on upgrading my old system. I spent about 2 months waiting for some deals and deciding which parts I'd get. I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse.
This was my old system:

Note that I replaced the 560 TI with a GTX 970.
This is what I purchased yesterday (price came to about 1650 after hunting down some coupons)

Was my system old enough to really warrant a full upgrade, or should I have just purchased a 1080 and stuck it in my old system? The remorse isn't coming from the money spent on the new system, but from not potentially getting the full value of my old system by just upgrading the card. Would I have ended up with pretty much the same performance if I just stuck a 1080 in my old system and called it a day? Are the new components I purchased so much better it made upgrading worth it?
