Was there a category that was removed on this forum?

The last time I came here before today was almost 4 to 7 years ago. I actually don't remember when I even made an account here, it was by pure luck that my browser actually had my password saved for this many years. In that time span I went to different forum sites, thus I might be wrong here about a category no longer on this forum.
I do see that politics is not allowed in this forum according to the rules, but this baffles me as I think I remember that this forum had a category or page for politics, is that true or am I remembering a different website? If this forum did have a politics section, why was it removed?

I think you are mistaken, I been here about 8 years now and in that time, I don't recall a politics area. We try to avoid areas where people will fight over the topic.
