[citation][nom]decepticon[/nom]Hmm, maybe you could have put it to better use, such as maybe donate it to someone who can't afford a [strike]decent laptop[/strike] outdated netbook. Maybe give it to a family member. What a waste, much like the skin of those two hipsters.[/citation]
Fixed.

[citation][nom]utengineer[/nom]Wow, there are a bunch of bitter, crumpy old complainers here. Yes, these guys could have donated this laptop to someone for better use. There are kids having fun. More fun than sitting around a website all day waiting to post comments on the latest tech news I bet.[/citation]

If it's a hobby, it's just for fun. If it's a job, OMG! it must really suck ;-)

[citation][nom]ginnai[/nom]Any suggestions as to why I only see Apple products getting blown up?[/citation]
People prefer to use non mac products rather than blow them up is my suspicion.

Pretty sure the guy in the video said they were "m-100". [strike]If memory serves I think M-80 is supposed to be a quarter stick of dynamite.[/strike] I guess that's just an urban legend...

Morons :)
Now can someone call the cops on this losers for using explosives in residential area.

It would have been really funny if the neighbors house caught on fire :)

Attention whores. The quickest way to get noticed on the net without going to jail is to post a vid of the latest gadget being blown up. Meh

[citation][nom]WhySoBluePandaBear[/nom]Good lord, any guess as to what exact kind of firecracker that was? Some heavy duty stuff they got there.[/citation]

They said it was an M-1000. I remember when M-80's were the big thing back in the 80s. Kids always wanted to get ahold of those. These days those are only available with a federal permit or something.

I don't think the M-80/M-1000's are really a specification of explosive content, just a marketing gimmick. I recall some companies selling legal M-80s, but they were really weak compared to what used to be made years back.

The not so legal ones were dangerous, and definitely not to be toyed with. Lot of us were stupid when we were young and we wanted stuff that could do a lot of damage.

I'm all for firecrackers for celebrating, and don't mind the types a lot of towns have banned because some idiot kid put a ladyfinger in his mouth and lit it, but responsibly. Not with stuff used to clear vermin from property or take out small tree stumps.

That's one helluva firecracker if I may say so...

I must admit, it looks like the unibody held up acceptably well, all things considered. Think of what it would have done to something like one of Dell's cheaper laptops... no offense...

[citation][nom]icepick314[/nom]no kidding...crappy piece of laptop can't even standup to couple of firecracker....[/citation]

The firecrackers are M-1000, the most powerful firecracker on the market and they pack a powerful punch.

Mac laptops are made out of a solid aluminum piece, they can actually take a lot more damage that your average Windows laptop which are typically made out of plastic.

That is the fastest I have seen a Mac go...ever![/citation]

I know it's really popular to hate on Macs, especially around here, but every Mac I've ever worked on runs much faster than any Windows PC or laptop, and I work primarily with Windows based machines, including laptops, desktops and servers. There's a reason why they're no. 1 with professional graphic designers.
