You desktop most probably has 16:9 aspect ratio (1920x1080), or 4:3 (old-school 1600x1200), or anything in between. Your phone most probably has another aspect ratio, meaning that without distorting the phone (making you fatter or taller), something must be either cropped, or with black bars around.
