Water cooling for i5-2500k

Hello friends, I did do an extensive search on this topic before posting so forgive me because I know its been posted before. I simply wanted to get updated recommendations based on price and also because I am new to this, I wanted to include information about my case because I was told to take this into consideration when considering which product I should get... My goal is to get up to 4.5 GHz in order to ameriolate huge FPS drops in Elder Scrolls Online multiplayer (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2138500/fps-drops-multiplayer-due-processor-limitations.html)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P8P67 PRO Rev 1.xx
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 1502 03/02/2011
Memory: 8192MB RAM
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770

Is that something that is in the price range you want, now you are not guaranteed to hit 4.5GHz but you will be able to OC it, there's just no telling how much

Well I just dropped over $350.00 on a new GPU to fix the FPS drop in the game I am playing and my wife was happy about that not one bit. I was hoping to get something as cheap as possible that would allow me to get up to 4.5, which it doesn't appear that its possible at all for anyone guarentee how high I can go. That being said, there must be people who know of others with very similar setup who are able to get their with something under $80, right?

The i5 2500k is only 17% behind the i5 4670k.

Is your 770 drivers up to date?

What are you getting for % usage for your cpu cores? What max cpu temp are you getting? (download and run HWInfo64)

Have you thought of upgrading to i7 3770k or i5 3570k and maybe even a new mobo?

What power supply have you got? What min and max readings do you get on the 12v, 5v and 3.3V lines? - from HWInfo again

I wouldn't just jump into overclocking. You should be able to run Elders Scrolls no worries according to them And even Titans are having problems.
I'd Google some more. And check out the state of health of your pc.

Total: $74.99

I think you could hit 4.6/4.7GHz with that cooler given your setup. My 2500k is able to reach 4.4GHz with a low end mobo + low end air cooling.

i can tell you, i have a corsair h100i and its an absolute beast, i have my i5 4670k overclocked to 4.7ghz and it never goes above 33 degrees during standard tasks and never goes above 45-50 degrees at full load.

I think you could hit 4.6/4.7GHz with that cooler given your setup. My 2500k is able to reach 4.4GHz with a low end mobo + low end air cooling.

I think I might get this, but some of the reviews on amazon are not very good... complaints about leaking within a few days of installation. Have you had any problems or know anyone who has with it?

Why have hassles when you can go high performance air cooling with so similar performance to pre-built liquid, it's unbelievable!

Noctua NH-D14, Great cooler, super quiet, keeps my 4930k cool at 4.9Ghz!

That will perform better then the H80i, with no worries of leaking of every once and a while refill, expect a longer lifetime also.

You do not need to watercool a 2500K to reach a 4.5ghz overclock, you can do that with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO!

For water cooling the H80i is really good performance for the price. Please post back what overclock you are able to achieve. I'm going to guess 4.6-4.8GHz

4.6Ghz would be where you should stay, 4.8Ghz is a little too high, and temps may be a little uncomfortable.
