Heyo,

I am currently undergoing a new PC build and I think I am going to get a basic first water loop. I know nothing much about water cooling yet btw. My case is the Corsair Obsidian 1000D. I am only going to cool my i7 9700k for now but later down the line when I know what im doing I will improve it. What is the best route forme to take at the moment? I would prefer to have a really clear glass/hard tubing as well. I was thinking about getting the EKWB EK-XRES 140 Revo d5 RGB PWM (incl. sl. pump). If you guys have any other recommendations or any tubing/fittings then please let me know. I am very new to water cooling so any help is greatly appreciated. I also need to find a water block. I love the look of clear/glass hard tubing socwould prefer that and I quite like the look of the metal fittings but like I said I know nothing lmfao

Thanks in advance,
Fate05

If you plan on hard tube for your first loop, just remember to have patience. Lots of it! You will more than likely mess up on a bend or two and waste some tubing, so just order a little bit more than you need. Make certain you get the correct fittings for the tubing you get, as it's very important for sealing.

EK makes awesome blocks, as well as radiators. I use an xspc raystorm block for my cpu and an ek block for my gpu. Both great products!

You'll also need to make sure you have all the correct tools. You'll need a heat gun for bending. A tube cutter and most likely a reamer to smooth the edges of the tubing after cutting.

As mentioned above jayztwocents is a great source of info as well as bpscustom.

I think I am just going to get the NZXT Kraken x72 for now or atleast until I know a bit more about water cooling lol

Can you help us in understanding why you decided on the corsair 1000D case?

Chances are, you will regret having purchased such a behemoth case...

What are your other pc parts?

A pcpartpicker.com BB link will help a lot.
Have you bought all the parts? Budget for the pc parts? Budget for custom loop?

I have just build my first 100% watercooled pc same case, corsair 1000d using Ek parts, first the case is big and heavy, do I like it ,not to much, due to the fact that if you plan to have 2 loops cpu and gpu, there is no sensible way to instal 2 ek pumps with 250mm res without extending the plattform on top of the harddrives. The case is not the optimal water build case ,at least in my opinion .Ther is also questions about the air flow in this case ,the MB needs extra fans to keep it cool,as the distance from the front rad and the top rad does not give the MB the air it needs when overclocking,I just put in a new asus rog maximus xi extreme and a 9900k,got lot of problemes with hot ram and lower case m2 disk in the lower parts of the MB, under the the big rtx 2080 card,I solvet it by instaling 2 120mm fans one to cool the ram,and one to cool the m2 disks.
the results in userbench mark 92% cpu running at 5,2ghz and the ram at 3200 in xmp.I have one 420mm rad in top with 6 fans and 2 480 rads in front with the 8fans .You can overclock quite a bit but not running steady with out the 2 120mm fans.

I Understand This Post Is Old... But My Question I Have No Idea About Is My CPU Is Getting Hot But I Was Wondering If You Mount My Soon To Be CPU AIO With Four Fans... One Top Fans Pushing Air Out The Case From The Rad... As Well As The Two Bottom Fans (Inside The Case) Pushing Air Up Into The Rad... Would That Help Cool The CPU A Little Bit More?

It's possible. But it would probably benefit you to make a separate thread to ask. That way you'll get more views, so more people can help answer your questions.

What issues are you having? What's your setup currently?
