Okay so:

Recently, I dropped a full glass of water down my table which proceeded to drip directly into my PC case, down to the very power source.

Thankfully, the computer wasnt turned on and i immediately unplugged everything. I then let everything dry and booted the pc the next day. No luck.

I called a friend to bring me his power supply, but he had a different idea. He opened my pc, and took out a blue plastic thingy. The computer suddenly worked.

Now, it turns out it wasnt a perfect solution. The pc doesn't turn on as it once did, I need to press the button multiple times. Also, It takes 10-20 seconds longer to boot.

Idk what that blue plastic thing was, or if it was important at all. Does anyone know what I can do now?

So this is the blue plastic thing.

The situation has escalated: now the motherboard isn't even sending out signals (at least,, I think it's the MB) The display doesn't turn on, the mouse and keyboard won't either. The PC is turned on and all the fans inside are whirring, but other than that nothing works.

The thing is, whenever I put the blue thingy back on it's place in the Mb, the power immediately shuts off. As if it was obstructing the electricity flow inside the whole computer.

I don't know if the power supply is broken, since everything IS turned on, but no signal is being sent into the display, mouse, keyboard, etc.

That blue thing like a jumper. You need to find out what that does and I don’t think it was a good idea to just take it off

If computer was not unplugged from power source, it still has some electricity flowing to parts and have same effect as if it was running. Even if power switch on the PSU was off, there are still parts of PSU under power.

I get that. I'm just wondering what I am supposed to do now. Why is my monitor, my keyboard, my mouse all the hardware components that are OUTSIDE the computer not working properly? Why aren't they reacting all of a sudden, when yesterday they worked fine.

The water apparently destroyed components inside your PC and that’s why things aren’t working. The motherboards probably damaged

I would recommend bread boarding the system bring it down to just the motherboard CPU and RAM and see if it boot. If everything appears to be working add components one by one try to figure out which ones don’t work and will need replacement. If it doesn’t boot it could be your motherboard as well so you may be buying new hardware

How am I supposed to know if it boots without the GPU and SSD where the OS is on?

Well you can see if it posts at least then add your SSD and your GPU see if it boots and continue on until you find the problem hardware

Well the problem right now is, that there are no signals being sent out by the MB (at least, that is what I suspect.) Why else would the mouse and the keyboard not light up... I'm worried that it might be the GPU too, because the display doesn't turn on but that might be due to the Mainboard as well.

I mean, wheter it is the CPU or Mainboard doesn't matter, because if I want to chagne the CPU I'd have to change the MB as well, since it is so old.

I just want to know for sure if it's the MB so I don't waste money exchanging components.

The only way to know for sure is the breadboard it and see if you can get it running so plug-in your CPU your ram your GPU and your SSD and see if it will work

So this is what the inside of my PC looks like whenever I start it. Everything looks totally normal. Do you guys see anything that's off?

Disassemble the whole thing, take a hair dryer at medium settings and attempt to dry every single component individually from a reasonable distance.

And ask your friend what that blue thing is and does he even know what he is doing

The PC has already dried. I've dried everything manually and then let it air dry for 3 days now.

The blue thing is a jumper. I have no idea what it does, tho and neither does he
